Thomas M. Ray
President and CEO
Thomas M. Ray is President and Chief Executive Officer of CoreSite based at the company’s headquarters in Denver, Colorado. Mr. Ray has been responsible for the company’s activities since its founding in 2001.
Mr. Ray is also a Managing Director at The Carlyle Group focusing upon opportunities for the firm’s real estate funds and leading those funds’ activities in the data-center and colocation sectors. He brings over 20 years of experience with making and managing investments and businesses throughout the U.S., Europe and Asia. Prior to Carlyle and CoreSite, Mr. Ray held roles of increasing responsibility with the Security Capital Group of companies (Prologis, CarrAmerica, and predecessors to Archstone-Smith). Prior thereto he practiced real estate and transactional law.
Mr. Ray received his M.B.A. from the University of Texas at Austin Graduate School of Business, where he was a Longhorn Scholar. He received a J.D. from the University of Colorado at Boulder School of Law and his B.S. in Business Administration with emphasis in Finance from the University of Denver, where he was a Hornbeck Scholar.
