Thomas M. Ray
President and CEO
Thomas M. Ray is our President and Chief Executive Officer and a member of our company’s Board of Directors. Mr. Ray has been responsible for our company’s activities since its founding in 2001. Prior to the initial public offering of our company, Mr. Ray also served as a Managing Director of The Carlyle Group, focusing upon opportunities for the firm’s real estate funds and leading those funds’ activities in the data center sector. He brings over 20 years of experience making and managing investments and businesses throughout the U.S., Europe and Asia. Prior to joining Carlyle and our company, Mr. Ray held roles of increasing responsibility with the Security Capital Group of companies (ProLogis, CarrAmerica and predecessors to Archstone-Smith). Prior thereto he practiced real estate and transactional law. Mr. Ray received his M.B.A. from the University of Texas at Austin Graduate School of Business, where he was a Longhorn Scholar. He received a J.D. from the University of Colorado at Boulder School of Law and a B.S. in Business Administration with emphasis in Finance from the University of Denver, where he was a Hornbeck Scholar.
