QA Analyst - Denver, CO
Department: Information Technology
Reports To: Director of Software Development
Status: Regular, Full-Time, Exempt
Role:
As a member of the company's information technology team, the QA Analyst is responsible for testing all code changes, ensuring the customer's requirements are met, and all code changes are properly documented prior to release into production.
Duties
- Develop, publish and implement test plans for a complex, multi-tier system including custom .NET development and commercial off-the-self (COTS) applications
- Conduct functional, regression, and integration testing for all software releases
- Change and release management
- Analyze functional specifications and design documents, working directly with business analysts, developers, and end-user groups to ensure software functionality and technical design requirements are met
- Develop and execute automated test cases/scripts using commercial tools
- Create and maintain all QA documentation including; test cases and test results for all phases of testing
- Define, track and report metrics such as defect densities and open defect count
- Participate with the development team in an Agile SDLC methodology
- Assist coordination of user acceptance testing with business personnel
- Maintain confidentiality with regard to the information being processed, stored or accessed
- Responsibilities may require occasional evening and weekend work in response to needs of the systems being supported
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- Solid understanding of QA methodologies in a .NET Agile SDLC environment is required
- Experience in a QA environment which includes multiple commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) products along with custom .NET development
- Experience with change and release management in an environment which includes multiple commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) products along with custom .NET development
- Experience with automated test creation and execution
- Experience in regression test management
- Experience using test tools such as Visual Studio Test Professional
- Experience with Unit Testing in a .NET environment
- Experience with manual white and black box testing for backend and customer applications
- Experience with SQL
- Experience with either Python or VBScript is a plus
- Proven track record that demonstrates continual growth in technical and business analysis, along quality assurance skills
- Excellent interpersonal, written and oral communication skills
- Strong analytical and trouble shooting skills
- Ability to write technical instructions in the use of test scripts and/or test script modifications
- Basic reading, writing, and arithmetic skills required.
Education/Experience:
- At least 3 years prior quality assurance experience is required
