About AWS

AWS Direct Connect

With AWS Direct Connect you can establish private, low-latency network connectivity between your dedicated infrastructure and Amazon Web Services – optimizing your hybrid IT environment. When you bypass the public Internet and connect to AWS directly within our data centers, you benefit from reduced data transfer costs, improved security and optimal network performance. Whether you are using AWS to store data or run production workloads, AWS Direct Connect offers a dedicated network connection that enables you to securely and efficiently extend your on-premises infrastructure into the cloud.

AWS Direct Connect and CoreSite

AWS is accessible in all eight CoreSite markets, either through direct fiber connectivity,or through one of our network partnerships.

  • Dedicated Connections. Customers in Los Angeles, Silicon Valley, Denver, New York and Northern Virginia can connect to AWS Cloud via the AWS Direct Connect native router deployed at a CoreSite data center. Dedicated connectivity occurs over a standard 1Gbps or 10Gbps Ethernet fiber-optic cable, up to 40Gbps with AWS link aggregation groups.
  • Hosted Connections. Customer can connect to AWS Direct Connect via the CoreSite Open Cloud Exchange™ in all eight markets. Hosted connections are available up to 10Gbps in Los Angeles, Silicon Valley, Denver, New York and Boston with hosted connections of up to 500Mbps available in Chicago and Miami.

Amazon EC2 Bare Metal Instances

Amazon Elastic Compute Cloud (EC2)bare metal instances provide your applications with direct access to the processor and memory resources of the underlying server. These instances are ideal for workloads that require access to the hardware feature set, or for applications that need to run in non-virtualized environments for licensing or support requirements.

VMware Cloud on AWS

VMware Cloud on AWS integrates VMware’s enterprise-class Software-Defined Data Center (SDDC)software and Amazon EC2 elastic, bare metal infrastructure; enabling organizations to rapidly extend on-premises VMware vSphere environments into the AWS public cloud.

AWS Outposts

AWS Outposts offers you the same AWS hardware infrastructure, services, APIs, and tools to build and run your applications within CoreSite’s data centers and in the cloud for a truly consistent hybrid experience. AWS Outpost is ideal for workloads that require low latency access to your local systems, local data processing or local data storage.
