"The sFlow standard describes a mechanism to capture traffic data in switched or routed networks. It uses a sampling technology to collect statistics from the device and is, for this reason, applicable to high speed networks (at gigabit speeds or higher). An sFlow agent is the implementation of the sampling mechanism on the hardware (for example a switch). The sFlow collector is a central server which collects the sFlow datagrams from all agents to store or (later) analyze them. The sFlow agent uses two forms of operation: statistical packet-based sampling of switched or routed packets, and time-based sampling of interface counters." Wikipedia - sFlow
CoreSite offers Any2 participants sFlow charts and tables via MyCoreSite, CoreSite’s online account management portal. Each member with access to MyCoreSite can view port performance on a peer-by-peer basis. The sFlow screen includes a graph with all peers listed, a table giving the peer and volume of packets inbound/outbound from the port per peer, and a link to the hourly, weekly, and annual sFlow traffic patterns for each peer.
CoreSite’s goal is to deliver effective, easy to use utilities allowing you efficient access to performance data on your port. As always, we welcome your feedback on how to improve our existing product, in order to maximize the utility and experience for Any2 participants.
