CoreSite’s Internet exchange, Any2, is widely recognized as one of the largest in the United States. Any2 allows you to directly connect to Internet routes or content needed to improve your business. Additional benefits include saving money on transit Internet, improving performance by eliminating intermediate networks, and supporting improved disaster recovery planning.
Any2 is a layer 2, IPv6-supporting, physical network switch operated by CoreSite to facilitate the exchange of Internet traffic between Internet Service Providers (ISPs) and content creators and providers. It is a place for network providers to interconnect and exchange IP traffic at a local or international level. To facilitate access to the 'global Internet,' a network, or Internet Service Provider (ISP) must, of course, have connectivity to the global Internet itself.
Below are some benefits of Any2:
Reduce Costs – Instead of managing and paying for many individual cross connections to desired peers and transit Internet fees, an Internet exchange allows companies to pay for one port – and immediately have access to all other members of the exchange point.
Expand Your Network Reach – the sheer number of combinations available on Any2 (mathematically it’s (n * (n-1))/2), all members, large and small, can exponentially increase their number of direct peers. Peering within the Any2 community is simplified with utilities such as our Any2Easy route servers.
Business Continuity – A port on Any2 can be a great way to maximize network uptime. If your primary or even secondary provider’s network is down, it could take up to 48 business hours to get a new physical interconnection up and running. On the other hand, with your Any2 port, re-routing traffic could be as simple as connecting to Any2Easy and completing your global routing with a few calls to connected Any2 global Internet network providers. Any2 has supported global routing recovery on several occasions, including during the Taiwan earthquakes in 2007 when multiple fiber optic cables were damaged in South China Sea. Any2 traffic nearly doubled instantly as Any2 participants rerouted traffic from private cross connections that were no longer functioning due to the damaged cables through Any2.
Minimize Waste – Streamline your network connections and save port capacity by reducing the number of low or medium traffic private network interconnections.
Any2 is a classic, open Internet peering point and is available at all CoreSite data centers. We provide a high performance switch and assign participants an ARIN-issued non-routable exchange IP address. Simply request participation and we will establish your port (100 Mbps, 1 Gig, or 10 Gig) from your data center location to Any2. From there, you are free to establish a BGP-4 peering session with any other participant. Peering relationships are a private matter between participating Any2 members.
You do not need to be a CoreSite data center customer to order an Any2 port.
| Port Size: | Pricing: |
| 100 Mpbs | $100 NRC / $100 MRC |
| 1 Gig | $450 NRC / $250 MRC |
| 10 Gig | $4,500 NRC / $600 MRC |
Private peering is not available between geographically distributed Any2 locations. To set up a VLAN at no charge, simply specify when ordering or contact Sales@CoreSite.com.

CoreSite makes peering even easier with Any2Easy our utility route servers. Bob Evans from the Fiber Internet Center built Any2Easy, with the intent of giving Any2 participants a single point where they could automatically peer with many networks, reducing the need to establish numerous individual peering relationships. Fiber Internet Center continues to act as the administrator and technical support for Any2Easy.
Any2Easy fully supports IPv6 peering.
