WHAT IS AN INTERCONNECT GATEWAY? An interconnect gateway is a device or software that enables data exchange among networks, systems and devices. The gateway facilitates connectivity and interoperability by translating communication protocols and adapting them as needed to support data exchange.  
WHAT TYPES OF NETWORKS DO INTERCONNECT GATEWAYS SUPPORT? Local area networks, wide area networks and wired/wireless networks. They also connect traditional and cloud-based networks. 
WHAT ROLE DO INTERCONNECT GATEWAYS PLAY IN CLOUD INTERGRATION? They can integrate on-premises networks and cloud platforms. This supports hybrid and multicloud IT strategies. 
HOW DO INTERCONNECT GATEWAYS ENHANCE APPLICATION PERFORMANCE? Interconnect gateways translate diverse communication protocols and put the data into a form that’s friendly to the receiving network or system, streamlining handoffs. If a gateway is capable of traffic management, it makes bandwidth decisions based on application requirements.
