Railway provides full-stack cloud computing capabilities that its customers use to deploy web apps, servers, databases and more. The company believes that vertical integration is a long-term benefit that increases speed, improves reliability and reduces cost compared to hosting on hyperscale clouds. The challenge was finding the right data center partner to support Railway’s growth and scalability requirements with the necessary power density, connectivity and geographical locations.
The Solution
Railway selected CoreSite for its robust interconnection ecosystem and ability to deliver scalable, high-performance connectivity. At CoreSite’s SV9 facility, Railway leverages the Open Cloud Exchange® (OCX) for seamless multi-cloud connectivity to AWS and Google Cloud.
CoreSite’s blended IP solution provides enterprise-grade out-of-band internet connectivity to manage Railway’s infrastructure, while the Any2West® internet exchange enables direct peering with content delivery networks (CDNs). A high density of on-net carriers enables Railway to connect to its preferred Tier 1 carriers such as Zayo and Arelion at SV4 and SV7, while intermarket connectivity further allows Railway to connect to off-net carriers, such as NTT, via CoreSite’s SV1 facility.
By leveraging CoreSite’s interconnection ecosystem, Railway benefits from a streamlined, high-capacity architecture that includes 2.5 Gbps (G) blended IP with a redundant port, cross-connects between SV9 and SV4, and 100G intersite connectivity. Together with the OCX for cloud connectivity and Any2West for high-performance peering, this integrated solution enhances network reliability, scalability, and performance.
CoreSite’s SV9 facility is certified with the NVIDIA DGX-Ready Data Center program. It provides the power, cooling and interconnection required to host scalable, high-performance infrastructures and high-density applications critical for neoclouds like Railway.
