The Challenge

OXIO is redefining telecommunications through its cloud-native Telecom-as-a-Service (TaaS) platform, enabling businesses and brands to launch mobile services, become MVNOs, or embed connectivity directly into digital products and experiences. By aggregating connectivity from global telecom carriers into a programmable, cloud-based core, OXIO delivers scalable connectivity solutions across industries, including retail, fintech, connected devices and more.

To support its rapid growth and distributed network architecture, OXIO requires fast, reliable connectivity deployments that can be completed in weeks rather than months. However, traditional fiber providers often operate on lead times of 30 to 60 days, creating potential delays for network expansion.

As OXIO expanded its U.S. footprint, the company needed a hosting partner for its private cloud that offered a carrier-dense, highly interconnected platform and support for a distributed network architecture in U.S. markets.

The Solution

OXIO is a CoreSite hosting partner tenant in New Jersey (NY2) and Silicon Valley (SV7), with connectivity into Los Angeles (LA1). The company uses the CoreSite Open Cloud Exchange® (OCX) to enable secure intermarket connectivity between sites, to support workload distribution and to connect to network partners via LA1. The OCX is a foundational component of OXIO’s strategy by securely connecting public cloud providers, networks and IT services. CoreSite’s blended IP solution provides scalable, fully optimized internet service for out-of-band management to maintain operational continuity. Together, CoreSite solutions support OXIO’s efforts to flip the telecom model, have carriers on a cloud-based network and enable workload resilience, network stability, flexibility and fast time to market.

DIVERSE CONNECTIVITY CAPABILITIES EXPAND GROWTH OPPORTUNITIES

OXIO requires connections to a variety of partners, including internet exchange providers, telecom carriers and other radio access network (RAN) providers, SMS companies and voice services. The company utilizes CoreSite’s interconnection expertise, dark fiber infrastructure and the OCX to gain flexible options for scaling bandwidth and seamlessly connecting with geographically dispersed partners across the CoreSite ecosystem.

OPTIMIZED INTERNET ACCESS SUPPORTS OPERATIONAL EXCELLENCE

OXIO’s rigorous operating standards require workload resilience and network stability. CoreSite’s blended IP solution offers 100% SLA uptime and enables direct access to public cloud providers, in addition to out-of-band management. It blends the lowest-latency Tier 1 carriers, multiple internet service providers (ISPs) and internet exchanges to optimize the speed, reliability and cost of data traffic with intelligent routing and redundant data hand-offs. In case of a failure, the service switches automatically from one ISP to another.

TECHNICAL SUPPORT OPTIONS LOWER COST AND INCREASE DEPLOYMENT SPEED

With no offices or infrastructure engineering employees in Silicon Valley or New Jersey, OXIO would have to fly technicians to these locations to make physical changes. Instead, OXIO relies on CoreSite staff and its software-defined service delivery platform. MyCoreSite integrates seamlessly with the Open Cloud Exchange, so OXIO can easily monitor and maintain its data center deployments and network connections – and request help from the CoreSite Remote Hands support team when necessary.
