Cloud Networking

Solutions for Fast, Secure and Scalable Connectivity

OVERVIEW

Reduce Data and Network Costs While Increasing Performance and Reliability

CoreSite delivers cloud networking solutions that provide direct, highly secure and high-performance connections between enterprises, cloud providers and network partners. Whether you're building a hybrid cloud, multi cloud or redundant data center architecture, CoreSite's platform enables seamless data exchange with reduced latency and improved network reliability—all powered by our Open Cloud Exchange® (OCX)

Our direct cloud connections cut data egress fees by as much as 60%.* With CoreSite, enterprises can align best-of-breed cloud services to meet strategic business imperatives such as exceptional customer experience and reliability, as well as the performance that AI requires and developers need. Supporting this performance often requires specialized infrastructure, such as AI inference zones that enable real-time decision-making in data centers.

Whether your goals involve improving performance, lowering costs or expanding and accelerating market reach, CoreSite's cloud networking solutions offer a scalable, reliable and future-ready infrastructure to help your organization thrive.

*Cost savings are based on CoreSite cost comparisons using publicly available and private information and/or CoreSite customer reported costs savings and may not be indicative of the cost savings that may be experienced by every customer that switches to the applicable CoreSite service.

OPEN CLOUD EXCHANGE

How the Open Cloud Exchange Works

The CoreSite Open Cloud Exchange (OCX) is a software-defined networking platform that enables enterprise-grade private connections to cloud providers, networks and partners. The OCX works by providing a single port into our Layer 2 Ethernet switching platform, enabling private virtual connections (VLANs) to multiple service providers over a private network. Included in our intuitive self-service portal, My CoreSite Service Delivery Platform, you can provision virtual connections in near real-time, simplify cloud migration, and optimize performance without costly hardware or time-consuming manual provisioning. CLOUD NETWORKING

Frequently Asked Questions

WHAT IS CLOUD NETWORKING? Cloud networking connects your IT systems to cloud providers through high-performance, secure interconnections. CoreSite's cloud networking solutions enable low-latency access, reduced costs and seamless data exchange across hybrid and multi cloud environments.

WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN A DIRECT CONNECT AND A CLOUD CONNECT?

A direct connect is a private, dedicated network connection. A cloud connect utilizes the public internet.

WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN PUBLIC CLOUD AND PRIVATE CLOUD?

Public clouds are managed by a third-party provider such as Google, Microsoft or IBM. Private clouds are established and managed by an enterprise and dedicated to that enterprise.

WHAT IS DATA EGRESS?

In the context of direct connection to public clouds, data egress is the transfer of data from the cloud to a specified destination such as an enterprise data center or service. Cloud providers typically do not charge for data to be brought into their cloud but do charge for data to be retrieved.

WHY IS DIRECT CONNECTIVITY IMPORTANT IN CLOUD NETWORKS?

With direct cloud interconnections, you no longer need to rely on network providers for connections to each cloud provider. You also have access to a more diverse supplier ecosystem that can centralize resources to support rapid access to the public cloud.

HOW DOES CORESITE ENABLE MULTI-CLOUD CONNECTIVITY?

CoreSite enables multi-cloud connectivity through direct, secure access to major cloud providers via the Open Cloud Exchange®. This platform allows enterprises to connect to multiple cloud from a single port, simplifying hybrid and multi-cloud deployments while improving performance, reducing costs and increasing operational agility.
